The ACC 50th Reunion Golf Classic was a great success despite the terrible weather. Eight golfers showed up and braved the rain all day long to play. Art Gary, one of the golfers, insisted on playing through the rain, and the rest of the group couldn’t say no. Once they were out on the course, it seemed like the rain didn’t even matter. The group had way too much fun and shared a lot of laughs throughout the day.
There were no winners or losers in this golf classic (at least none that were made public). Everyone had a few good shots, as well as many bad ones. The important thing was that they were all able to come together and enjoy the game of golf while catching up with each other after so many years.
Talking to many at the reunion the following day, it became clear that there will be many more golf classics like this one in the future. I envision our own golf classic continuing and growing in the summer of 2024, so keep your eyes and ears open for the possibility of joining in on the fun.
Despite the rain, the ACC 50th Reunion Golf Classic was a great reminder of the importance of staying connected with old friends and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
